Hello guys,
I'd like to ask you to list lacunas and cultural differencies you noticed during our exchange. Ofcourse it's easier to do so for the Dutch, but I'd encourage Polish as well.
Please spend a few minutes for doing it, cause it will help us in evaluating the project.
Thanks!

Before I put my list of lacunas here I would like to point out that during the trip I wasn't looking for lacunas but instead was looking for the things we have incommon. It is good to know what the differentses are and you can learn from eachother true understanding these but does are not the things that bound us. The things we have incommon do and just accepting we have lacunas is enough for me.
the list:
Polish vs. dutch
1. High context vs. low context
2. never serve your self a drink always someone else vs. pooring yourself
3. taking it slow with the girls vs. straight forward, go for it
4. introvert vs. extrovert
5. listening vs. asking questions
6. reserverd opion vs. outspoken opion
7. stay interested vs. expresing when there bored
8. alc. addiction vs. smoking addiction
9. great at footbal vs. suck at footbal
10. hot girls vs. fat pigs
well I hope these lucunas help you any further, I also wanted to write down the things we had incommon
1. We both like to party
2. We both know how to party
3. We both did party
4. We both are interested in eachother
5. We both are interested in culture/history/filosofy
6. We sometimes both loose are pasports/phone/wallets
7. We sometimes both like conspiracy
8. We both like to talk about sex
9. We are atracted by the same types
10. We like the same sports
Hope to read some lacunas from the rest of you to! Gini mabye you can write down the stuff we put on paper during the week.
Ronald

Ronald,
I like your list, it was very helpful. And you're fuckin smart that after one week you noticed so many things about Polish people that are actually truth...
now you can think why it is like that, and I suppose the answer you should look for in history of our and yours society...
I wait for more lacunas/cultural differencies and opinions about our nations!
Maybe some Pole...

Here are more lacunas I noticed during the stay in Poland.
Even though some of the lacunas don’t apply to all Polish people
If a guy in Poland buys a drink for a girl in a club or something he gives a signal he wants to get into her pants.
In Holland it means you like this girl and out of kindness you want to buy her a drink.
Each time Polish people meet each other they greet by shaking the hand of the other person.
In Holland most people just say "hey" and that’s about it.
(when a guy meets a girl who are friends the guys takes the hand of the girl and kisses it, but this i more for the older generation of Polish people).
When you are in a restaurant and food is being served i noticed that the bigger a man you are, the more meat you get .
For instance in the Jewish restaurant i get 1 and a half piece of meat so i got more than the other people on the table.
And in another polish restaurant where we eaten 2 times the waiter had 3 plates in his hands and he purposely gave me the one with the biggest piece of meat on it .
And incase you are wondering yes i consider myself a big man
Well this is what i noticed apart from the stuff Ronald already wrote nice job by the way .
please do correct me if I am wrong about certain stuff or feel free to add something to it .
later
Tim
